Dr. Stephen B Murphy is one of the leading orthopedic surgery specialists in Boston. He finished his residency training at the Combined Harvard Orthopedic Residency program. Dr. Stephen is also a developer and inventor of the superior capsulotomy minimally invasive method of performing total hip arthroplasty. He has expertise in computer-assisted and reconstructive surgery. He has designed implants and instruments throughout his career and has pioneered many new surgical techniques that are currently in use. Dr. Stephen was one of the first American surgeons to popularize the use of peri-acetabular osteotomy for hip dysplasia. He was the first to publish on the topic of Femoroacetabular impingement.
