Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Sacred Heart Catholic Church was founded in 1905 and is one of Tampa’s oldest cathedrals. The church is located at 509 North Florida Avenue, is predominantly a Romanesque structure with other elements. The magnificent new building was dedicated, and it became Sacred Heart for its name and that of the parish. Sacred Heart Catholic Church has 70 stained glass windows, the most prominent are the 17 vertical windows lining the nave, which anchor each side of the transept and rim the apse. Sacred Heart has a range of meeting spaces and services used during Masses during the week and weekends. Sacred Heart Catholic Church has the most significant meeting room, which usually holds Bible Study, which Sunday morning nursery classes during Mass. The church also provides a wide variety of religious objects and unique gifts. Sacred Heart Catholic Church offers a place of prayer, praise, and reflection for parishioners, tourists, and members of the downtown community.
