Roger D. Smith, MD - Ochsner Medical Center

Dr. Roger D. Smith finished his medical degree at the USC School of Medicine and completed an internship at the LAC + USC Medical Center. He obtained his residency from St. Josephs Hospital & Medical Center and fellowship from Natl. Hosp. for Neurology & Neurosurgery. He has high knowledge in cerebrovascular diseases and microneurosurgery. His clinical interests are principally in cranial and functional neurosurgery. Additionally, he treats aneurysms and vascular malformations, brain tumors, both benign and malignant, pituitary tumors, and works with the Movement Disorders Center and performs Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders. He practices at Ochsner Medical Center. He is currently Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at Tulane and Chairman of the combined Tulane-Ochsner Dep. of Neurosurgery and neurosurgical training program.
