Old Capitol Museum

Old Capitol Museum is one of the most significant historic buildings in Jackson. The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark and became a National Historic Landmark in 1990. It is one of the country’s premier models of Greek Revival public architecture. Its original grandeur and reopened by the state as a free museum centering on the distinguished history of the home and the events that have taken place in it. The interactive multimedia exhibits explore the purposes of the legislature, high court, and governor and the significance of historic preservation to the state. Old Capitol Museum offers free admission.
