Dr. Mohamed A. Hassan is one of the leading hepatologists and gastroenterologists in Minneapolis. He obtained his medical degree from the Somali National University, Mogadishu, Somalia. Dr. Mohamed finished his residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. He specializes in gastroenterology, hepatology, and liver transplant. His responsibilities include endoscopic services, in-patient consults, and out-patient clinics. Dr. Mohamed founded a viral hepatitis center here at the University of Minnesota. He has four funded research projects on hepatitis B, and C. Dr. Mohamed has published articles on viral hepatitis and other related topics, both in international and national medical journals.
