Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is the oldest adoring congregation in the town of Kansas. The church history starts informally with the French men and women who began settling here around 1820 constructed from bricks made at Fr. Bernard Donnelly’s brickyard at 11th and Pennsylvania (near the original church in the log cabin). The cornerstone celebration was a beautiful affair, and more than 10,000 people from across the city and state visited. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception ministries in social, political, economic, disadvantaged, and oppressed societies, they foster and work for the collective good of all. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception offers a model for sacred, Catholic music firmly founded upon the strong base of the vast, rich musical heritage of the church.
