Augusta Canal Trail

Augusta Canal Trail is a popular historic and natural setting 8-mile trail situated in the downtown of Augusta. The trail is part of the larger Augusta Canal National Heritage Areas and offers attractive views of the Savannah River and the city’s skyline. It is a perfect place for jogging and cycling and provides access to the scenic Savannah Rapids Park. There is a water and bathroom at the start and end of the trail and on the other midway. The park creates an urban wildlife refuge home for various flora and fauna, including several rare and endangered species.
