Detailed Information
Reno Arch is an iconic landmark and the most recognizable symbol in Reno. The original arch was constructed in 1926 to commemorate the completion of the Lincoln and Victory Highways. The arch is owned and operated by the City of Reno. The arch is a leading feature of downtown Reno, and the motto of the town, The Biggest Little City in the World, has been featured for most of its history. The transcontinental highways were important for trade in Nevada and California, and both governors, poohbahs from the San Francisco Shriners, marching bands, and many ordinary citizens attended the dedication.
