J C Nichols Memorial Fountain is the most famous and most photographed fountain of all the fountains in the area. In 1910 Henri Greber sculpted the figures and beautified Clarence Mackay’s home in Long Island, NY. It is a non-profit organization committed to preserving historical fountains and sculptures in Kansas City. It is 200 wellheads registered, and the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain is famous for its four statues of horse riders. Visit the location at Country Club Plaza’s eastern entrance on a special day when the overflowing water streams are always painted festive colors.
